In George Orwell’s ‘Animal farm’ Squealer the pig progressively amends the agreed ‘7 Commandments of Animalism’ which initially established equality for all, to become a single unified law which states:
"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".
- Does, in your opinion, that principle apply to people too?
- Do you prefer your Peasants downtrodden, servile and pathetically grateful?
- Should the Lower-Orders at first be obsequious and then invisible in your presence?
- Does the payment of a fee for the provision of services establish a Master-Slave relationship?
- If someone provides you with Service does that cause him or her to become your Servant?
- Is it fair to assume that Servants are lower-echelon people and therefore inferior?
- Does it follow that Servants are likely to be of lower intelligence / underachievers?
- Is someone your inferior who earns less, or owns less, or is less famous than you?
- Are the citizens of small countries inferior to those of large and powerful countries?
- If you are blessed with great intelligence, does that automatically make you superior?
- If you have achieved or aspire to achieve a state of ‘Celebrity’ through some special personal talent or stroke of good fortune, should this provide a reason for your treating others as lesser beings?

We are intelligent retired professionals of independent means who provide hospitality and are pleased to welcome to our home anyone willing to accept us as their equal. We enjoy the variety and stimulus that such visitors bring and do all that we can to ensure that guests depart with happy memories of their stay. Sadly, about 3% of our guests demonstrate by their manner and/or behaviour that they support one or more of the above views … it is of that small minority that we grow infinitely weary, so suggest that they go and be rude, remote, dismissive, condescending, superior, hyper-critical and obnoxious Somewhere Else.
